This is part 2 of my posts I am making. This is a 8 inch projectile I believe to be from ww1 or earlier. It has only one mark I could find so far, a R on the driveband with 2 anchors surrounding it. Thanks to hazord I also took the necessary measurements of the drive band. It is about 34mm high from bottom of projectile and is 36mm wide. I also included better profile pic of the driveband and projectile, thanks again to hazord for advice. I checked the bottom and no marks either. So no luck there. I did measure Between the two sides of threads on bottom and got around 100mm. I have a theory this steel insert would have gone here with the hole for the fuze in its center like on the bottom of my 6 inch rounds and a friends 3 inch round bottom i have pictured as an example lastly. Height of projectile is about 24 inches and diameter is 100 percent 8 inches diameter. I believe this to be American based on the design. I theorize it is for a American 8 inch railgun but would like your inputs.
