81mm illuminating flare pot question

Hi all.
Does anyone know if the parachute flare pot from a british 81mm iluminating mortar bomb had any markings on the outside?

Hi Paul, if you are talking about the L54A1 then yes i can remember when i done mine seeing some letters but being burnt could not make them out.

yes, thats the one. i aquired a couple the other day and was wondering if it was worth trying to resore the burnt pots. the parachutes are mint.
