90mm Practice

Hello,

I found interesting pictures of a 90mm practice shell on a website. The seller says it's a french practice shell but I'm not sure.
This round is a copy of US M71 for practice and markings look belgian. The case looks french.
Maybe I'm wrong but I can read : 90mm JPX
TP-T/HE
M81 BG
(typical belgian markings)

Regards

Hi Minenaz,
concerning the shell, you are wright, it's Belgian !
the marking is not 90mm JPX but JPK (JagdPanzer Kanone)
Belgian JPK.jpg
The nomenclature indicate a Belgian shell : M81 BG, BG is effectively used for Belgian model.
Can't you read a lot number somewhere ? Stenciled or stamped ?

Our JPK were chosen and used principally for eliminate the stocks of 90mm that we had for our M48 Patton tanks.

Concerning the case, I don't know wich case was used with our 90mm shell ! I suppose it was the same as previous for the Patton but I'm not sure of it.
Two possibilities : we used the French case adapted for the JPK gun or the case on the picture is not adapted with this shell !

When I read the nomenclature on the case, I see the manufacturer code ASS.
ASS is french : Atelier de Chargement de Salbris, France

It's possible but I doubt that belgian army had used french cases with french marking !
If we used the french case, belgian ASM had put a belgian marking on it. (I think !)

I'm not sure if someone repainted this projectile to go with the French case, but the projectile is a U.S. M71A1 missing its screw-in tracer or a copy. It has a U.S. fuze, tracer hole, rotating band etc. The case is French.
