L5 series of baton rounds. Does anyone know what the differences are between the L5A1, A2, A3, etc up to the L5A7, including the B1 modifications?

Plastic batons. (This might have some relevance to the question above) Do the different shades of orange, yellow, and cream plastic batons signify a different plastic composition, and if so which is the older, or for which cases?

Primetake Baton Training round. Does anyone know what projectile was used with these rounds or have a photo of a complete round?

A start for you - The Round Anti-Riot 1.5 in. Baton L5A6 differs from the L5A5 round in that it isproduced to a higher specification and proofed to a more stringent schedule. The Round Anti-Riot 1.5 in. Baton L5A7 differs from the L5A6 round in that theCartridge Case is polyester coated rather than anodized.

Green coloured AEP what is it?

I picked up a GREEN 37mm AEP projectile today. All the other AEPs I've seen with L60A1 and L60A2 cases have been dark grey.

Why is this one green?

Could it be pre-production / experimental ?
Is there a recent change from grey to green? (L60A3 ?)
Is it from a different manufacturer?
Are the military ordering a different colour than the police?

The green AEP is shown on the right, the more usually seen grey on the left.

I now have a photo of the Primetake baton training round taken from their Catalogue No. 02.01.1078. (Thanks to Alex in the IAA.)
The Primetake baton training round was a training round for the L21A1.
"The round contains a re-usable baton insert which is returned to PTL along with the packaging and boxes to be reloaded into new cases."

Photo below is from the PTL catalogue. Notice no date or lot No.

Edit: I forgot to say, the OAL for this round is stated as 115mm in the PTL catalogue. (I presume the L21A1 is the same?)

I picked up another green AEP projectile today, this time it was in a used L60A1 case.

I've also bought unseen last night, a small number of used green AEP projectiles that the owner acquired with a few used L21A1 projectiles. They were probably used in a similar time frame, and we know the L60A1 superseded the L21A1, so I am starting to suspect that the green AEP is from the L60A1, and the grey AEP from the L60A2.

Does anyone know and can confirm if the L60A1 had a green AEP and the L60A2 a grey AEP ?

Obviously as most collectors baton rounds are a case and fired projectile put together by a dealer, the cases don't always have the correct projectile which would explain why there are grey AEP sold in used L60A1 cases, if it's confirmed that is the wrong combination.

The army's 2010 grenade pamphlet confirms that the L60A1 has a dark grey projectile, so that is not the explanation for the green AEP.
Anyone know what the green AEP is from?
