A large unknow shell case

I would like to know if anyone knows which kind of gun used this german shell case.

All i could think of, is a cutdown 24cm L/40 case. Normally about 1030 mm long (tall).

I have been searching in Internet,but not German field or naval gun have this shell case measures.

Could this be for a 24 cm gun ? The cartridge and shell were separate so the cartridge case could be bigger than the bore, to match the chamber size. Rod.
