Does anybody have any more information on this 1944 dated American 37x215SR T2 round please? The following markings are stamped into the driving band, 'LOT LE-1-45-37MM-T-34' and the projectile is stencilled, '37 S???? INERT T34' and 'AMM LOT PA-E-816'. The fuze plug is marked 'FUZE -DUMMY T134'. Case primer is a standard M23A2. The length of the projectile including plug is 152mm. Thank you.

PA-E stands for Picatinney Arsenal Experimental, and the FA-E on the case stands for Frankford Arsenal Experimental. I see it has a 1942 primer in a 1944 case with a 1945 projectile. Nice spread.

According to Chinn (Vol III page 31) the "Gun, Automatic 37mm T2" was a Browning design tested at Aberdeen in June 1925 (which makes the dates on yours rather odd). It had a muzzle velocity of 3,057 fps.
