This was advertised locally on FB Marketplace. Large, approx. 25"x15"x10", metal box dated 1942 with broad arrow, made by Pressed Steel Co.
It has a lock and a faux leather type seal.
Can't see it being an ammunition box.
Has grey paint on the outside with stencilling, 'SERIAL' then a number. The inside looks like Service Brown but is that too early for that colour?
I've seen others dated 1942 on eBay.
Is it just a lockable officer's trunk?
