Just wondering exactly what it is. I bought it for the maker's mark. My work colleagues and I have been trying to work out what I have, without much success!

Have a search of "Mills grenade base plug" on BOCN and you will find a few mentions.

It is a base plug for a Grenade Hand No. 5.
