ANM-57 nomenclature

DEADLINE222

Well-Known Member
Key kids,

I am in the process of restoring a ANM-57, 250 pound casing.

I am duplicating my casing to represent those in the image. I am clear on all of the nomenclature, except for what I have pointed out.

On the nose, of course, is:

GP
250 LB
ANM-57

Any idea of what it is I have pointed out below this?

In the middle; above "EXPLOSIVE BOMB" I believe I see F E O P -4. Is this correct?

Any help or better image of the type pictured would be much appreciated.

Looking at the enlarged picture of the bomb right under the split of the ammo I read LOP (former Lima Ordnance Plant -also steel mill-) which was a widely known US ammo factory for heavy ammo.

Here is the engineering drawing for the markings on the AN M57 bomb. If it is to difficult to read, send me a PM with your e-mail address and I will send you a bigger file. Bob
