Another 40 MM

To add to my previous post, this is the second 40 mm projectile I have. I believe this one to be american but what the h_ _ l do I know. Stampings are as follows: MK 2-12 E LOT 202. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'd believe this one to be US navy also.

40/60 Bofors Naval of American origen

Pretty sure GiJunkman is right about that one being a Naval 40/60 Bofors,and it was most likely a High Explosive.
