Another unknown box probably post-war

A friend has this box in a warehouse. No embossed markings and to me looks like a 1960s/1970s box.

He wants it repainted to make it look like wartime as decoration for VE-Day parties.
Does anyone have any suggestion what wartime box this could resemble?
I myself was thinking perhaps a C224 or C239?
