anti countermining anti submarine bombs

ROBIN BIRD

Well-Known Member
More about the once most secret armament trials of the Marine Aircraft Experimental Establishment, RAF Helensburgh. This from the personal notes of the principal armament officer: These bombs were designed to stop countermining, the potential dangerous situation when a bomb would detonate before reaching the correct depth by the pressure pulse from the bomb dropped before it in a stick. These tests were on the live bombing range Lady Isle. Do any members know more about this weapon?
