Any ideas on this one?

Hi,

A friend came across this one recently and I'm unable to ID it - the construction seems quite crude and similar IMO to WW1 vintage grenades, but I could be way off track.

No markings whatsoever on it.

All thoughts welcome!

I've seen similar. After some debate it was thought to be an improvised grenade related to the Bosnian war, based on the classic F1. Never had a definitive view though.

Yes I did think it resembled the classic "F1" - very interesting re the Bosnian war theory and found this background information:

The "bilecanka" is a good example of how "crude" some of the grenades were:

Perhaps it is a "Famosovka"?
