Automatic timed fused WW1 Stick Grenade

Well-Known Member
Not your normal stick gren and rare is this fused with automatic timer varient.

You would remove the cap as normal then throw, the weight would fall out in flight and when it reached the end of its cord it would snag and pull the cord/wire from the fuse and arm the gren while in flight.

The string legnth was calculated so that in the event the weight fell out while in the soldiers hands it would not arm itself :tinysmile_cry_t4:

So rare as you can imagine. Nick has found a very good WWI stickgrenades source. Maybe we would have to visit him for talk about that source :viking:.

Thank you,,,, these had 8 second fuses, they look like the same design as in the M1916/17 gren fuses but with a longer delay.
