Sorry I don't know. Those that I saw in Germany were packaged together in four lengths adjacent to each other with a small metal clamp box at each end, so that a group of four could be carried as one item. Not sure where the pointed ends were kept, maybe also in the clamp boxes. Not sure also how they were stored in the Explosive Store Houses (ESHs). An abbreviated, yellow stencil marking (I think it was on the clamp boxes) was `Bang Torp 1.5 Inch ...'. A colleague of mine had a plain green tee shirt that he took into work and stencilled the detail on, then wore it and called himself `Torpedo Man'. Where are you now, Malc?

I wasn't in charge of the scrape and repaint work which is why my memory is hazy. It would make sense that groups of four tubes would be stored in outer packages and that storage in a box would make storage in a building much more space-efficient.
