BEF Hand Thrown Smoke Grenades 1940

I had a question for some of the experts on this site;

When the BEF was deployed in France 1940, did they have any handheld smoke grenades? Something equivalent or similar to the No 77 used later in the war? I know that the No 63 was a grenade that was used with a rifle discharger, but I’m wondering if they had something that could be thrown by hand.

I’d appreciate any info on BEF smoke use in 1940 :)
