1914, a young man from the upper echelon of London elite goes to war https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6852178/. What starts as an impeccable IWW movie about British poet Siegfried Sassoon's life, unfortunately later in the movie bogs down into a multitude homosexual affairs in this poet's life (of no consequence to anyone but parties involved). The movie recovers at the end when everyone ages and loses their youthful looks forcing them to re-evaluate their lives. The highest level of cinematography is maintained throughout the film though. This reminds me of another war classic Cabaret (1972) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068327/

We saw this a while ago. Thought it was a little long for the story it was trying to tell. As you say the part where Sassoon is famous and tied in to various theatrical types is a bit over done.

6/10 but worth seeing.
