Normally I will not give a second look to a trench art piece and certainly would not pay any money, but this one is some what special because of the headstamp. I was planning to get all the soldered pieces of copper off the case. But with a closer look it is a work of art made with a lot off skill, and I could not bring myself to go forth with my original plan. And now it lives among my collection as intended with the art on it.
its a 24cm 1905 Kaiserliche marine shell case with a Ex K (exercier kartusche) stamp (never seen it). Length 51 cm looks original but I did not find a clue if this is original. There are a few reloading stamps so it did not start life as a practice case.
Reworked for a marriage in 1949 with the shipsname of the owner on it.
