BL 10 Pounder mountain gun wooden ammunition box

Reading a quote by a Gunner with Ross Mountain Battery who states that "The 10pr BL ammunition came in wooden boxes of ten per box which we would transfer to leather boxes which we then hooked to the pack saddles". Does anyone have any further information, photos or dimensions of these please?

Hi Rob, Have checked my paperwork but can find no reference to any box numbers or dimensions for the 10pr BL. Will let you know if I come across anything. Cheers GARY

Thanks Gary, much appreciated. Wonder if they may just have been similar to the 18 pounder but adapted for x8 10 pdr shells (without charge bags)
