BMF 1888 case - cutted?

Hy all,

I got this old case some days ago.
It have BMF 1888 7 and crown stamps. The BMF mean Berndorfer MetallwarenFabrik.
The case's length is 73mm, the caliber is 52mm.
This is the case's normal length or cutted? What gun used this case?

could it be a 4.7cm Hothkiss case cut short by some vandal.

The rim looks Hotchkiss...does it measure about 64mm ?
