boer war projectile? bomb?

Greetings all! Is this a Boer War projectile? it has brass timer on top numbered 0 to 18 .Empty / Inert. I had one similar before that i showed on here and found a new home for, this ones slightly smaller. diameter is 3" inches, height 11" inch. havent been on the bocn forum for a while, ive started dealing in more militaria recently, seems to go well on ebay, but obviously this kind of thing isnt allowed on there.

By the base markings, you have a 15Pdr projectile made of Forged Steel.

I hate to quote Wilipedia, but it says the 15Pdr was used in the Boer War. At least it was that time period.
