Bomb dump find

Recently found on a bomb dump is this item only marking is G224 inspectors stamp? overall size 3.25 x 1.25 across cradle centre is hollow, well made of Brass one side has a flat on it approx 3/4 of its length
Any ideas ?

Hi its A British bomb dump , found amongst a lot of bomb pistols and fuze parts, fuze pocket plugs etc

Not Nimrod if thats your direction but maybe an earlier version for WWII era +10 year aircraft.
