(Click on the pics they will display correctly) The B&W photo with the sailor is a US Navy display vs 1918-1920 of the British pattern bombs used in an antisubmarine role - note the flat ballistic cap on the 230lbs bomb, a typical addition to so many anti-submarine air dropped devices.
