looks like they chopped those fins of something with an axe and stuck them on!it probably worked well enough

In sittingboure heritage museum thy have a model of a paper drop tank produced by lloyds paper mill, clearly seen is a fuse assembly for distriction of the tank once released from the plane,,,,,,,Dave
