First published in 1975. This is an excellent recounting of the convoy that succeeded the ill-fated PQ17. The author used National Archive documents (primary sources) and eyewitness accounts and the result is very readable. The AA weaponry used is also well documented here. The book also raises the point that although Britain and France gave a guarantee that war would be the result of the invasion of Poland, as happened against Germany, this was not the case with Russia, Poland's other aggressor!
