The Tin would have contained 10 British pressure switches and percussion Caps.

There would have been a label and booklet to describe what type of switch and its uses inside the tin, i would have thought it was written on the lid but both my examples just say pressure or release, i would have thought either of these switches could have gone in the tin....... Dave

The tin was probably an inner container. Pressure switches such as these would have been used in booby traps.
