Got this at Horndean the other day amongst other bits,the seller had loads,but only a couple were of 60s date the rest were mid 80s,im happy for a fiver.Has anyone got any info on what the charges were packaged in/pics etc? cheers Tony
 
PE4 is an RDX based explosive very similar to C4 but with a different plasticiser used. It usually comes in 8oz wrapped sticks and looking at your box it used to contain 40 of these in 4 cartons of 10.

Below is a photo of an 8oz inert training charge of PE4. The real stuff is an off white colour.

Made at Royal Ordnance Factory Bridgewater (BGW) I think the factory is still in existance and producing quality goods.

It is a nice malleable explosive to work with and doesn't leave your hands in a mess.
