Bren Gun Magazine Box

Hi

Searched for a thread on these but couldn't find one.
Picked this up last week at the local flea market (and will be the last for a while now Derbyshire is in tier 4!) for a fiver. Original paint and stenciling.


Rusty but solid with a few dents but the magazine partitions have been hammered flat and the metal to hold the seals has been removed. Managed to straighten out the partitions on another I bought a few years ago so I'll do the same to this.

Just wondering if these boxes had any stamped markings at all of manufacturer/date?

Have a similar box but could not find any markings or date on it. No idea who made this type of Bren box and when.

I took an even closer look on the Bren Box and found exactly what I wanted to see. On the lid just above the latch; BL 6094 PMD 1955 then the Broad Arrow.





The other box I have was repainted and has an M followed by what seems to be another M on the body under the latch. I've included pics to show the different pressing of the lid recess and the handle.
