According to the US Navy manual on British Bombs and Fuzes the 30lb 'J' Type Incendiary Bomb uses a simple inertia striker (as against the 30 lb LC Incendiary which used an expensive fuze!).
I see that you are away from your docs. Herewith an extract on the 30lb J Incendiary. Jefferis also devised a 20lb version at MD1 which, according to OB Procs, was to supersede the 30lb version. Have not followed it up.
