Post a discussion in another thread I dug deep in the garage for the only British 4.5in Mk4 case that I have found. Sadly it is a sea find and not in the best condition. Tony Williams article on his website describes the Royal Navy medium calibre gun story during WW2 in excellent detail. The Mk4 gun introduced separate loading ammunition due to the weight of the previous fixed rounds. The case pictured clearly has the neck adapted for a closing cup and length reduced to about 640mm.
