Thanks Paul, you must have all the set of the L8 variant ? not seen the plastic plug in item 1 before, presume this one was an official re-paint ?

Hi Tony.
the L5 seems to be in its original paint. It has a purple stripe up the back so i presume it was for trials or something like that.
Heres a few more pics.

Hi Paul, looks great, new camera working well by the looks of it. Did not know about the purple stripe before, must be an experimental one and quite early too, maybe mid sixties ? that is the first plastic plug I have seen on one too. Tony.

I am not sure but i think this could also be interesting, On the top you see "Remove before loading"2/42 on the other side you see "TOP" and 6/42. The items are inert. It seems that the grenade is a smoke grenade used in WW2.

No 63 Rifle Smoke Grenade. I like these, have had three in the past, one in bare metal, one in light green and the one I kept is in olive green with red band, I think of Austrailian manufacture with faint markings. Tony.

Hi,

I've learned from Spotter to check old threads!

I'm following Roller63's request to show photo's of British discharger grenades.

I think the L17A1 proof grenade is quite unusual.

If anyone has spares to sell or trade, I'm looking for L5, L6, L7, L9, L11, L12, L14 and L15 discharger grenades and/ or their transport tins....

Thanks,

Gary

Hi Gary, I have a proof one too and the top of the fuze assy is blown out like yours, maybe because of the extra charge used in a proof round ? I can't help with your wants, but do have some others not shown that I can take pics of when I get the time, unfortunately all packed away in boxes :(
BTW, did that L1A1 Drill come from me ? I bought a box of six a few years ago and have sold all but two of them I think.

Hi Tony,

Would be interested in more photo's!

I bought the L1A1 Drill grenade from Paul Heddell at the War & Peace show a few years ago. He had several and I wish I had bought more now!

The L96 Tear Gas definitely came from PointBlank.

Cheers,

Gary
