British AP Mine No3

As far as I'm aware Mine, Anti-personnel, No.3 was of 'Local Manufacture' at Kirkee, India (I say that as the only information I've found on it is from Chief Inspectorate of Amnmunition, Kirkee (Inspection notes)). It was pressure or trip operated. You'll notice the centre section appears to be the same as a Mill's centre section. There were three marks, apparently the Mk. I was never issued filled, The Mk.III incorporated a simplified trip and pressure mechanism.

I think you might be correct. The pressure plate is of the Mk.I or II pattern, however on all Mks the fragmentation extended the full length of the body, unlike this specimen. It might just be possible this is a latter development by POF or similar.

Tim, I think we can exclude POF or the like as it came from a mine collector which had some well restored items and also repros. He would have told if it had an exotic background I think.
