does anyone know if there was a cut off date (and what was it) when we stopped painting HE shells mustard yellow and started using mid buff or was it a gradual process? From all the original painted shells that I have seen I imagine it would have been in the early 40s. Any thoughts? thanks, Dave

The first Rarden HE development projectiles followed the old British standard with the shell body painted bronze green and a yellow band placed directly beneath the fuse. This then changed to golden yellow as it is today. This places the Rarden colour change over between 1965 and 1968.
