British No6 Mk1 A.P Mine

Known as the Carrot mine ,Britains first post-war A.P mine .In pic 1 an instructional No6 ,made from clear plastic ,with all the components made from various coloured plastics ,dated 57 ,next to it a drill No6 .Regards Dave

The plastic its made from,is it like bakelite?

How big are these things?
how would these be activated?
and what is the detructive capability of these?

Hi 18 the No6 was first issued in 1948 ,hard to detect due to the small amount of metal parts and designed the "carrot " shape to make it difficult to prod for .Just over 6 " long these thimgs were made to maim rather than kill[An injured man needs people to look after them ,a dead one doesnt ] ,regards Dave

Whilst there are interested parties in this thread, can I ask whether it's legal to own AP mines that are not drill versions? I was told a while ago that it wasn't legal to sell even inert AP mines unless they were drill versions.

Hi 18 my collecting as turned in many directions since i started 20 years ago ! Starting with British militaria ,battledress ,37 patt webbing , de-acts ,etc then slipping into Mills grenades , 2 pounders ,17 pounders ,etc . Then a few landmines both A.T and AP , then the German ordance ,3.7 cm Flaks ,88 etc .When it gets a little warmer i will post some pics ,regards Dave Also picked up a few WW1 bits along the way ,18 PDRS ,4.5" HOWS ,etc

Just picked up a nice dummy one myself. I was wondering if anyone has the instructions for use and a cutaway diagram of the internals? I dont know if I am missing any parts....
