Any ideas what this might be used on e.g.. for going over the top of 4 projectiles ?

Its 25.5 cm square across the top and is stamped on the top -

1943
MK II
C154
N
MI within a sidewards letter D

The brass plate is attached to the wood by 8 brass screws.

Middle hole is 3.5 cm wide.

Larger holes are 7.5 cm wide.
