Hi,
I was sent this picture today and have been asked if i know what the green band on the body signifies, all i know about it is that it was found in the Dolomites in 1982. Not much to go on i know but hoping someone will be able to help.
Best regards Weasel.

I agree, i will try and get the sender to get me some if he can.
Best regards Weasel.

I would say looking at the driving band that it was not German as it appears to have a groove in it towards the top that the one on QFA does not. The green band is not something i remember seeing before.
Best regards Weasel.

A green band just above the rotating band, is for a steel body in WW2 italian artillery shells.
