the factory letters stamped on the British Artillery cases that I collected those past months...

I have got a serious headhache with those one and I hope you can give me some help

I presume that, as you speak the british language, it would be easier than for me...

5. I would expect the maker's mark to be above 'LLM' (the significance of these letters is yet to be ascertained) however, it appears to have been abraded out.

6. I initially identified this as Harrisburg Pipe, but I know believe it to be Worcester Pressed Steel Co., Worcester, Mass. USA who were sub-contracted by Harrisburg Pipe.

The primers of 2 & 4 were manufactured by Winchester Repeating Arms Co., sub-contracted by E.W. Bliss Co.

Thanks a lot to TimG for those most fantastic answers !
I had the opportunity to have a look on 3 large lots of british cartridge case and
I have found some most interesting answers about the dates of first fabrication
and the change from Mark 1 to mark 2 and also the output through the years...
A book about the 18 pounder and 4.5 In ammunitions is boiling hard !
