Canadian No36 maker identification

Opinions needed.... is this a Chatco grenade? It appears to be marked with a letter "C" but it could be a poorly formed "G" for Galt Industries but I don't think so. The reason for the uncertainty is that there is a clearly formed "G" on the rear under the safety lever. Regardless if it's a "C" or "G", I would be looking to find a matching safety lever as it currently has a FW marked one fitted. Perhaps someone would be interested in trading levers?

I realize it has been painted at some point but I seem to only find "M" and "FW" mills bombs so I'm happy to have something different even if it's not in original finish.

It's a nice typical "C" for CHATCO... Chatham Company, Ontario Canada (with a Galt 'G' leaver).
All the CHATCO markings that I've seen on Mills castings have never really been impressed deeply.
The "G" on the reverse (behind the safety lever) would be a mold or foundry mark and not a maker's mark

It looks like it's been repainted at some time in its lifetime.
...not your standard Canadian paint scheme/markings for WW2 Mills

As for a safety lever, there are two variations for CHATCO.
a) a stylized (art-deco) "CHATCO", on early levers
b) a standard "C", on later levers
Either lever would be appropriate.

I've also seen numerous Galt 'G' marked levers on CHATCO Mills.
I'm not sure if this was common practice or as a result of miss-matched parts once they hit the collector community.

A nice Canadian 36M Mk.1 in any case!

Cheers,
Brad
