What country has it been found in?
Can you post a photo of the shell, exactly opposite the fuse hole - looking for a shallow hole there for the wood bottom land service rivet, or for two smaller offset holes for sea service wood bottom rivets - etc.

it says in the description it is around 8inches diameter and the empty weight is 42 lb it is in the UK

It looks like the remains of a Moorsom's fuze picture attached
Close but not the same this fuze is complete straight out of the ball . The first time it’s seen the light of day since the day it was fired
I will do more checks and pics when I change the water as it’s in soak to remove the sea salt from the iron
Could possibly be an earlier test version of this fuse as it was found where there was a test site dating from the 1700s through the 1800s I was told the ball was made safe and black powder removed after all those years in the clay beds of a sea estuary
