What type of Aircraft would need such a powerful starter ?

It's either a No. 9 or 10 Cartridge. These were used on Rolls Royce Avon Mk.100 Series. Also, it appears the cartridge was used with the Rover A.A.P.P. (Airborne Auxillary Power Plant) used in the Avro Vulcan. The English Electric Canberra was the main user.
