I would like to know to what tank or cannon it concerned and that type of ammo concerned the case is one 76mm it seems to me that it puts in ink 3 inc m32-m48 and to the wings of the case there is another writing, the case is of 1944.
Regards and graces

I wonder if it is for the up gunned ww2 American Sherman tank. Using the (not the 17 Pr.) 76mm "Hyper" AP projectile like the 1951 version I posted the other day.
Others will know much more than I do.

You will get a much better answer if you post a complete photo of the profile of the entire case. We need to see the neck.

Interesting - the case originally started out (1944) as a case for the 3" M10 tank destroyer/M5 3" anti-tank gun exclusively. Then apparently modified for later guns.

Hello,
I think the case started for the Model 1902 coast defense gun, then for the M1918 mobile AA gun.....came in two lengths, the neck length varied depending on the projectile........76.2x586R and 76.2x601R . When eventually used in the Walker Bulldog gun, the cases were at first a modification of the M1902 cases (as T19E1, many of which can be found in NZ) and later made as M88, M101, M171A1 etc. The driving band being mostly within the case.....so the neck is wider than on the M1902 cases.
