One angry phonecall from Beijing and the Chinese barge is off the hook. No way a small country like Malasiya is going to anoy big brother China. The same barge also scrapped three Dutch ships, two cruisers; the Hr. Ms. De Ruyter and Hr. Ms. Java, and the destroyer Hr. Ms. Kortenaer, as well as two Dutch submarines. All of them were official war graves. The skeletal remains of the 900 killed ended up in a mass grave in Indonesia. When the Dutch government protested, they were short of being laughed off.
Regretfully the same will happen to British ships as they are also the ships of the former colonizer, so -I think- the locals couldn't care less.
The only ships that will be left alone are the wrecks of US warships as the US navy WILL react with force if the graves of their soldiers are dishonoured, and China knows this well.
