Colour schemes?

Hi all,
I wonder what you all think on this suggestion. I feel that there should be a STICKY on the different COLOUR SCHEMES used by each nation. With the colour schemes I mean the actual correct colour code that will enable any paint shop to mix the correct shade etc. Many of us must occasionally scratch their heads when it comes to doing a paint job.

With a search on this site I found a thread that contained the British Standard Colour Scheme and just by using the numbers the local paint shop did an excellent match.

Now I need the correct Japanese Colour Scheme Codes to get the original correct shades etc.

Can anyone help please?

Cheers,

The local paint shop has Wattyl paints and yes they can mix some of the British colours such as Middle Buff and yet they can't mix Light Brunswick Green for me. It gets very frustrating. They can though do Signal Red.

Can anyone tell me what shade of green is the band on the 25 pdr HE projectile. I have just sectionized one that had part of one side caved in. I already have the middle buff and signal red.

I am just about to do some restoration on some of my Japanese items and the local paint shop can't even match the yellow and red used by the Japanese.

Can anyone put a name to the respective shades of yellow and red used by the Japanese and possibly a paint brand. I am not satisfied with the colours on the Humbrol chart as they don't match up to the example that I have.

Cheers,
BOUGAINVILLE
