Copper plates 18 Pounder

I picked up this 18 pounder some time ago and thought nothing of the copper platting.

My question is is the copper plating standard pattern? I have other non plated 18 pounders.

The copper plating is thick and old. Could it be an interim step in the projectile being chrome plated.

There are two sets of stamps on the projectile I do not know if this has any significance.

As always any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

It is not usual for the 18pr projectiles to be marked 'HE', so nice to see. The markings on the reverse are 'Proof of Fuze' and although ones for this purpose that I have seen are not copper plated, I suspect that the copper plating is original. A nice item.
