Currently reading 'Coventry' The story of the great air raid of the 14th November 1940 that destroyed so much of the city.

Author is Frederick Taylor - published by Bloomsbury.

Excellent book.

Does it mention the ironic fact that before WW2, Coventry council had developed plans for flattening all of the "old fashioned" buildings which gave the old city its character, and replacing them with "modern" concrete boxes? They probably would have done a more thorough job than the Luftwaffe.
