Published in 2001 by Pen & Sword. The author was a Major in the UK 4th Armoured Brigade (Challenger 1 tanks of 14/20 Hussars, Warrior mounted infantry of 1st Battalion Royal Scots and 3rd Battalion Royal Regiment of Fusiliers). He was a Battery Commander in 2nd Field Regiment, Royal Artillery, attached to the Brigade. The Regiment was equipped with M109 155 mm self propelled guns. The book tells of his part in the preparation for, and participation in, Operation Desert Storm. It highlights the constant maintenance needed, the lack of sleep, and the inadequacy of old equipment such as the Landrover and the AFV 432. The author leans a bit heavily on military jargon but I suspect the book was aimed to cater for artillery soldiers. It gives some graphic detail on his experiences and there are also plenty of photos. A first hand account makes this an interesting read.
