Are there differences in 40mm Bofor gun projectile lengths between L/60 and L/70 or are they about the same.

Bofors L:70 Comparisons..jpgI show a selection of Bofors L/70 projectiles with a L/60 on the right.
The shorter practice projectiles are similar in length but the longer plug fuze makes them longer.
The drive bands are a different profile too and the bases differ. So definitely not the same projectiles.

The answer is yes and no. As Ron showed above. the bodies are the same length, but the fuzes make the overall assembly longer. The L/70 projectiles are heavier also.
