Does anyone have a list or is there a site somewhere that has a listing, comprehensive or otherwise of US ammo shipping containers?
I just picked up a "37mm Gun, Cont. M160" (so labeled on the ends) and was trying to figure out what round it is for...the bottle necked M16 and M17 rounds will not fit. The Mk IIIA2 aircraft type (for the M4 and M10 guns) will, but with an M55A1 projectile it is probably an inch or two longer than it needs to be....
I have quite a few of the cylindrical tar paper shipping containers for various ordnance, and would love to find a listing of the designations and what they were for...
