We have all had this problem....I picked up an interesting 81mm "lamp base" or incomplete pre war mortar body for cheap hoping to find- someday- the missing correct part. I find it unlikely I ever will find the fuze and adapter ring so I had this 1953 M501A fuze and screwed it in....a work of art!
