On Sunday I was lucky enough to find a very good condition Mills No.5 with first type lever and fitted with a rare base plug.
It is a castellated brass plug dated 9/15 from H.M. Ltd.
I've seen photos of these before but they all looked a bit like French Repros. The plug I bought was well patinated, had years of rubbing and wear on the 4 high points and looks to be the real thing. Of interest the year looks to be machine stamped with the month added by hand.
